Web Page Browsing from Within Notebook

    Hi All,

I put together this little flash object because I wanted to dynamically enter a web page url from within Notebook to jump directly to a web site that was given to me by participants of my workshop. Couldn't find one in the gallery.

I wanted to enter the url from Notebook, but be able to change the url on the fly.  The only way I was able to do it was create an object and then link to the object beforehand or open up the browser and then enter the url.  That was sucking up valuable seconds of my workshop.

Not anymore.   This resizeable flash object does the trick.  You can get an idea of how it works by looking at the swf file here.

    http://www.teachinghacks.com/files/Browser.swf

Please right click and download SWF file.  (Can't seem to post files here) And Import Flash into Notebook, then drag to your Gallery. It looks much better when it is smaller.

This Flash Object is licensed by Quentin D'Souza under - http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.5/ca/

    Enjoy,

    QD

    To Bring Into Notebook
    1. Right-Click on http://www.teachinghacks.com/files/Browser.swf   and select 'Save Target As" and place on your desktop
    2. Open up Smart Notebook
    3. In Notebook - Select from Insert Menu "Flash File" and then locate the "Browser.swf" on your desktop
    4. Drag the SWF in your Notebook file to your Gallery.

    To Use:

    1. Click on the Browser to Activate it
    2. Enter the url and select enter.
    3. Default Web Browser Opens to the Web Page You Entered.
    Enjoy
