I am using build 9.5.78.4 03:14:43 of the notebook software on an XP machine.

After doing several "screen captures" (using the Screen Capture Toolbar) to put together a 4 page Smart Notebook document for the purpose to be able to print it (rather than to display it on a Smartboard) I chose to export it as a PDF. However upon previewing to print there appears red blotches around several of the pages or parts of pages . I see that the red are evident around those pages which were screen captured using capture freehand area of the screen button. It appears that the red fills in areas just outside what was the freehand outline iso as to make a rectangular page overall . Of course an upgrade may help but I am just wondering if there is alternative solution.

The best solution is of course to update your version of software.  However, if that isn't an available option, you could re-capture the image from your page itself using the Screen Capture tools.  Only instead of a freehand capture, try a box capture.

The created image should remain the same size and you can either place it over the original objects (if it causes no error in the printing process) or delete the unusual shaped object and replace it.
